For those printmaking fanatics out there, you should look up Masami Teraoka. Even though his works are not techinically a tradition woodblock print, I think you will find his ukiyo-e woodblock style watercolour paintings as equally interesting. I just learned about him from reading the AAP #11 back issue in the office, after having dim suming with cyn, jane and anita (which by the way, is awesome for its cheapness and it's delicioso.) And I have to say, after browsing through his website, this guy really knows how to combine Eastern and Western culture in his art and use sarcasm to create humour in depressed/religious/social subject matters.

Panda Man

I finally got my housing information. A double off-campus apartment at Via Micheli 12. With internet. Yess. Less oversea calls! I still don't know who I will be rooming with. But that doesn't matter, 'cause I get along with just pretty much everyone. YAY!! Off campus apartment with kitchen and internet!! so happy.

SummerStage with DJ Spooky
SummerStage with DJ Spooky was great. We gave away 300 copies of our current issue and all of our tote bags a hour before the concert had ended. Everyone, including the non-art people, seem to love the idea of an Asian Contemporary art magazine, especially young Indian teenage girls. I personally thinks the reason we were such a big hit is because we got some cute looking guys and girls working for Art AsiaPacific.
Of course, having good look is not all fun and games. I had a drunk Argentinian man constantly hitting on me, asking if I like to go to Lincoln Center with him. He claims to be a doctor/psychatrist but I believe otherwise. I tried to persuade him to take a copy of our magazine, but nooo, he just wanted to ask me questions about my personal life. ::Sigh:: I honestly don't know how these people manage to find me. It's not like I have a sign over my head that says avaliable. Elaine told me it's because I look too cute and naivete, and that guys feel a need to take care of me. Well, guess what, Miss Jesse does not need a guy to look over her. And she is not interested in whatever it is you're proposing. So "Back Away Punk" before I cut your hands off. ARGH.
(Sorry, got a little bit sidetracked.)
Anyways, thank you everyone for visiting our humble station. And thank you Angela coming out and spending time with me in the lovely Central Park. It was nice seeing all of you, and especially Roselee Goldberg, in a setting other than a classroom.
